The Gaylene DeGruchy Scholarship Fund has been established in loving memory of our past president and dear friend, Gaylene (May 8, 1947 – December 28, 2016.) A long-time resident and leader within the community, Gaylene was a founding member and integral part of Courage for Youth.

Professionally, Gaylene was a compassionate counsellor who worked tirelessly as an advocate for her clients. She is described as a warm and gentle woman of faith who loved her family and community. Her passion for young people grew from her love for her grandchildren. As a leader in our community, Gaylene gave generously of her time and talents to those in need.

In her time as president of CFY, Gaylene served us with excellence. We gratefully honour her legacy of helping those in need with this scholarship fund.

Since 2012, Courage For Youth scholarship funds have provided subsidies to help offset program costs to schools in need.

We recognize that some schools require a helping hand. Our partner organizations and individuals invest directly in equipping local youth and to succeed through their donations.
